Apprentice Charity Workshop - RMH Randwick

The first Apprentice Charity Workshop for 2024 will be held at Ronald McDonald House in Randwick, NSW from Monday 29 April to Friday 3 May 2024.

These workshops are incredibly important for your apprentice to attend as it allows them to spend a good amount of time to be trained by their trainer and other experts from the flooring industry whilst completing their theory work and collecting evidence for their assessment tasks.

The first day of this Workshop will be spent with Mapei gathering more evidence on levelling, moisture barriers and ramping for their assessment work.

The registration form must be completed by Monday 15 April 2024.

Working with Children Check:

All participants over the age of 18 years will need a current WWC card (or evidence of having applied for one) as this is an FCIA requirement. Please email me either the card or application number. This link can be used to Apply for a Working with Children Check | Service NSW.

  • Departure: 3 May, 4:30pm

  • Catering: RMH will supply lunch – please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Progression Towards Completion of Apprenticeship Units:

Attendance at the workshop will enable your apprentice to progress toward completion of units in their qualification. The RTO trainer and assessor will be present throughout the workshop to observe the skills applied by your apprentice during the workshop, provide guidance and collect evidence of competency. This workshop will cover the following units from their training plan:

  • MSFFL2035 Mechanically prepare surfaces for installation of flooring materials
  • MSFFL2034 Prepare subfloors with cementitious coating applications
  • MSFFL2032 Select, prepare and apply moisture barriers to concrete subfloors
  • MSFFL3107 Assess flooring installation sites
  • MSFFL2031 Remove existing floor coverings
  • MSFFL3114 Install resilient tiles and planks (partial evidence)

If time permits, the following additional units will also be covered:

  • TLID0021 Store and handle dangerous goods and hazardous substances
  • MSMWHS200 Work safely
  • MSFFL3106 Establish and maintain a safe flooring technology work environment
